Howl Mercantile & Coffee opened in town of Salida, Colorado in December 2016. Founder, Kimi Uno and her husband Alex Secor, originally Seattle natives, moved to Colorado in 2006. After spending several years in Denver, they moved to Salida to raise their two kids, Cedar and Lake. Finding this the ideal place to raise a family, they enjoy spending time with their friends, skiing, mountain biking and taking as many camping trips as possible in their van.
Our shop serves as a platform to give exposure to the creatives who make our products, facilitate synergistic connections, as well as bring accessibility to artisanal and bespoke objects within our community. Howl is an Experiential Retail Environment that marries the disciplines of craft coffee and the selling of small batch goods. We proudly serve an assortment of coffee beverages in partnership with our roaster, Corvus Coffee from Denver. Our vision is to give life and meaning to each piece through highly curated merchandising that tells a compelling narrative. The pre-requisites for the products we carry are excellent quality, beautiful design and the ability to convey emotional meaning.
