FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(Salida, Colorado: September 20, 2018)

The new Bookmarks For Burritos program, launched earlier this month, has sent the two winning images to be made into free bookmarks, each to be available at the Salida Regional Library and all Salida-area school libraries.

Harper Hartman and Jesse Hawley collected the most votes in the contest. Ms. Hartman’s image of an astronaut on the Moon was inspired by the novel “Wonder”, by R.J. Palacio, while Mr. Hawley’s image is based on David Lubar’s “The Curse of the Campfire Weenies”.  Each winner also received a free Mo’Quito burrito from MO Burrito, one of the programs’ sponsors.

To enter the contest, forms can be picked up at the Salida Regional Library. The Partnership for Community Action collects submissions regularly, and scans them onto their website. Visitors to the site can then vote online for their favorite image. Winners are announced periodically, with their art being made into shareable bookmarks.
