Soup diners made another difficult decisions (for the 38th time!) and chose Chaffee County Public Health's Team Breastfeeding as the recipient of $495 to apply towards their recently defunded program. Planned Parenthood and the burgeoning Chaffee County Open (disc golf tournament) gave compelling presentations, but the need for safe and inclusive spaces and programs promoting a mother's natural food source won out.
We also announced that, although High Country Bank has ceased donating their much-appreciated $250 bonus each month, Sellars Project Space did receive notice that an anonymous donor is willing to write a check for $500 each month to put towards Salida Soup and the Soup pot!
Stay tuned for announcements re: incentives and new possibilities for funding at future Soups!
