Kim Smoyer

Kim Smoyer is a fund development, strategic planning, and innovation consultant, facilitator, and trainer.  She facilitates strategic planning and idea generation sessions, consults on fund development, and on innovation process.  She’s worked with non-profits, educational institutions, governmental entities and small businesses including: Bureau of Land Management, Community Resource Center, Salida Creative District, Small Business Development Center, Sangre de Cristo National Heritage Area, Town of Crestone, Memorial Hospital of South Bend, and 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty – just to name a few.

Kim started her business, Smoyer & Associates, in 1991 and has worked in communities across the country. Her areas of expertise include innovation strategy planning, meeting facilitation, fund and board development and large project management.

Kim does trainings and workshops on creative problem solving, innovation, board and fund development and other custom designed sessions to address specific client needs.

She was part of the inaugural Certified Innovation Mentorship program, now offered through the University of Notre Dame in partnership with Whirlpool Corporation and Memorial Hospital of South Bend.  Kim also completed the Innovation Leadership Immersion program at the Pfeil Innovation Center in South Bend, IN. She is also a certified NxLevel Instructor, Kiln Innovation Facilitator and Matrix Leadership Facilitator.

Kim earned a Bachelor’s degree in Politics and Government, Women’s Studies and Philosophy from Ohio Wesleyan University; and a Master’s of Public Administration from Lehigh University.

Kim lives in Villa Grove, Colorado.


Miki Hodge

Miki brings a positive track record of over 20 years in youth and family program development, national convention coordination and successful fundraising in both nonprofit and corporate sectors. When she’s not at work Miki enjoys being a mom, playing on the river or skiing fresh powder with her family.


Shane Baldauf

Shane is a designer and software engineer with a focus on startups and products that serve positive community and environmental outcomes. As a Salida native, Shane was ecstatic to move back, and he looks forward to contributing to positive growth in the Upper Arkansas Valley.

This PfCA advisory board is for those that are comfortable with fresh ideas, have the vision to re-imagine existing ones, and wish to work on a community level for social change. We meet every 6 - 8 weeks to work on ideas, expand and grow the PfCA program, and network with like-minded friends.
